UKHE institutional repositories and longform publications

The British Academy is the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences (the SHAPE disciplines – Social sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy). Its purpose is to deepen understanding of people, societies and cultures, enabling everyone to learn, progress and prosper.

As a funder of research, as a publisher with a series of diamond Open Access publications, and as a policy voice contributing to debates on behalf of the disciplines it represents, the Academy has a longstanding interest in, and strands of work on, Open Access (OA). This includes investigating issues relating to OA for journals in the humanities and social sciences and also for book chapters and responding to relevant sector consultations.

The project team will be exploring the use of longform materials in UKHE repositories through interviews, a survey, and IRUS-UK data. If you haven’t already heard from us, and would like to get involved in some way, please email thom.barneswise@informationpower.co.uk
