Helen Henderson is a cheerful and friendly presence in the information world, and has had a varied career as a geologist, librarian, software developer, publisher, and subscription agent. Her wide view of the industry has enabled her to advise in areas of strategic development, such as business models for pricing and packaging of electronic publications of all types. She founded Information Power and led the development of a database of customer information for publishers which underpins standards. She also founded Ringgold which leveraged this database to provide an authoritative database of institutional subscribers to publishers worldwide. Helen has worked on several standards committees, including NISO’s Institutional Identifiers Working Group, the Editorial Board of NISO’s Information Standards Quarterly.
