Greater Automation of OA Agreements Webinar – video recording

On February 28, as part a project sponsored jointly by cOAlition S funders and the Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), Information Power hosted a webinar. This exhibited the work of four task and finish groups which have produced tools to enable smaller independent publishers to participate in OA agreements.

The outputs of these groups are:

  • Shared Principles for OA Agreements
  • Example Agreements
  • Data Template
  • Workflow

The webinar was of interest to libraries, consortia, and smaller independent publishers and service providers that support the research process.

Chaired by our own Lorraine Estelle, speakers included the chairs of the four task and finish groups: Rod Cookson (IWA Publishing), Celeste Feathers (Lyrasis), Claire Moulton (The Company of Biologists) and Arjan Schalken – as well as Robert Kiley (cOAlition S) and Yvonne Campfens (OA Switchboard).

It was an excellent place for us to discuss the hard work the task and finish groups undertook over the last six months, and an exciting time to finally discuss their ideas with a wider array of people. It was great to see the enthusiasm and interest in the project, and listen to the ideas for the automation required to make OA agreements scale.

As a result of a technical glitch with Eventbrite, we appreciate that some people were unable to join the call – we are deeply sorry! Luckily, the full talk can be found on YouTube here, and there will be an ALPSP webinar on the 25th of May to further discuss this project.

A huge thank you to everyone that attended, and we hope to see even more people at the next webinar!
