Lorraine and I are really thrilled to see the first deliverable announced from our Information Power project to explore cost-neutral open access agreements between society publishers and library consortia in developing and transition economy countries.
Thanks to an #OA agreement between @EIFLnet and @IWAPublishing, libraries in 26 countries are eligible for free access to 10 subscription journals AND their researchers are eligible for APC-free #OA publishing.
This is a win for libraries and researchers in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, North Macedonia, Moldova, Senegal, Sudan, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Tanzania, Zambia, & Zimbabwe. (And about the best birthday present I could receive today!)

Think gold #OA can’t work in low- and middle-income countries? We hope the results of this project will encourage you to think again!
